More Information about Courses
Both courses are evidence based programmes where each week builds on the week before. Participants are asked to commit themselves to the whole 8 week course to enable them to get the most out of the course. The course enables participants to develop a solid grounding in mindfulness through the practise of a range of techniques and exercises, so at the end of the course you will be equipped with the skills to continue with your mindfulness practice. During the sessions participants are given the opportunity, if they wish, to explore their experience following a mindfulness practice, alongside the course facilitator and other participants through skilled and sensitive guidance by the facilitator. This is an opportunity to explore and reflect on what has been learnt.
An important component of the course is to have a daily mindfulness practice during the course. Participants will be given mindfulness practises to incorporate into their daily life in between sessions. This is an opportunity to embed and build on what is being learnt during the course into everyday life.
The course programme includes a day of mindfulness practice which is an opportunity to practise mindfulness in supportive conditions and over a longer period of time. You will be guided through a range of mindfulness practices and the day usually takes place in silence, giving the opportunity to explore your experience without external distractions. Participants usually find that the day helps to experience more deeply the benefits of mindfulness.
